Host a Health Access Roundtable with local providers and residents
Advocate for rural walk-in clinics and telehealth services in North Durham
2. Fix Regional Transit Gaps
Collect commuter stories across Durham to highlight transit challenges
Push for better DRT routes, east-west connections, and affordable fares
3. Ensure Accountable Housing Growth
Launch a Durham Growth Tracker showing where housing is outpacing schools and clinics
Promote growth policies that tie development to infrastructure readiness
4. Support Youth Mental Health and Belonging
Design and pilot a “Durham Youth Civic Corps” program with community partners
Connect youth to mentorship, recreation, and volunteer opportunities
5. Represent Rural Durham Fairly
Visit Brock, Scugog, and Uxbridge to gather local priorities
Propose rural microgrants for mental health, connectivity, and small business support
6. Organize by Region
Appoint community liaisons across 5 Durham zones: North, East, Core, West, Anchor Hubs
Build a decentralized, community-led structure for listening and response
7. Maintain Monthly Community Engagement
Hold one listening session, one visit, and publish one short report each month
Use local dispatches to update residents on what’s heard and what’s changing
8. Lead One Key File with Excellence
Choose one focus issue (e.g. health, transit, housing) and become the go-to voice
Propose local solutions and engage residents in feedback and improvement
