On Thursday, June 13, 2025, the Ontario Centrist Party (CPO) held its first official all-hands leadership meeting—a defining moment in our journey and the start of a new chapter for our movement.
It was a weeknight, and many attendees were still finishing dinner or wrapping up the day. But the energy on the call was undeniable. Leaders from Durham, Milton, and across the province came together with a shared purpose: to build a stronger, more balanced political home for Ontarians.
Here’s what we covered—and why it matters.
1. Our first provincial campaign showed real momentum.
In our very first election cycle, we fielded five candidates and earned over 1,000 votes. We placed firmly in the middle of the pack—proof that there is real appetite for something centrist, community-driven, and practical in Ontario politics. We’re not here to posture; we’re here to participate, and people responded.
2. Two official Constituency Associations are now live.
Milton and Durham are now formally recognized by Elections Ontario. Local leadership is active and already building connections on the ground. These associations will be the backbone of how we meet people where they are—in their neighbourhoods, schools, and town halls.
3. Our platform and website are stronger than ever.
We’ve launched the third revision of our platform and the second version of our website. The new News & Media section is growing, our videos are reaching new audiences, and hundreds have signed up for our newsletter—completely organically. That’s a sign of grassroots trust.
4. We’re getting operational.
We’ve outlined the next set of priorities, including:
- A Supporter Registry: We’re compiling a database of those who’ve engaged with us so far—supporters, volunteers, even just the curious. This will form the basis of our WhatsApp community channels and future outreach.
- Newsletter Rollout: With interest growing, we’re preparing to launch a regular newsletter featuring province-wide updates—and eventually, local insights from each CA.
- Organizational Rhythm: We’ll be holding full-party meetings every quarter and CA coordination calls monthly. One-on-one meetings with our Durham and Milton leads will help clarify how each association wants to operate—with full autonomy, closer coordination, or a hybrid approach.
5. A new tone in Ontario politics.
This meeting wasn’t just about logistics. It was about tone.
The Ontario Centrist Party is committed to doing politics differently:
- Listening more than lecturing.
- Solving more than shouting.
- Inviting more than excluding.
We believe in the strength of Ontario’s families, communities, and small businesses. We believe people deserve to thrive, not just survive. And we believe politics should reflect everyday values—not just partisan tactics.
The meeting wrapped with open discussion, a few tech hiccups, and a lot of laughter. Most importantly, it ended with clarity: this is just the beginning.
We’re building something real—and we’re glad you’re here for it.
More to come soon.
